🧠 Expert Take
Think of compliance as a journey, as a road trip. You've got a certain amount of things that you need to get done and you've got 365 days to get them done in. Create a map, create a checklist, create a calendar on what you're going to do and when you're going to do it. Don't wait till the end of the year to do all your testing. Digital Asset Custody
Digital-asset custody refers to secure storage, management and oversight of cryptocurrencies, tokenised securities and blockchain-based holdings. In these assets, compliance is critical, as AML/KYC requirements apply, and traditional custodial risk frameworks must extend to cryptographic keys, cold-wallet storage and cyber risk.

Best practices include:
Ensuring clear governance over private keys
Audit trails for access
Robust controls around third-party service-providers
Contract-level clarity on duties
Tip: As jurisdictions clarify policy (for instance the U.S. banking regulator Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) on crypto-asset custody) institutions should revise compliance frameworks accordingly.
